Help I am having a hard time getting the top valve off of an oxgen tank that is going to be used for my fire cannon. Is there a trick to this that I am missing?

Re: Oxygen tank valve removal
Thu, April 24, 2008 - 12:45 PMI watched a guy take a valve out of a co2 tank at a gas shop. He used a bench mounted chain vise to secure the tank and a wrench made to fit the flats on the side of the valve with a handle about 4 feet long. The wrench jaws were about 3/4" thick. No trick, just the right tools -

Re: Oxygen tank valve removal
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 5:45 PMMight want to try strapping it down to a sturdy shipping pallet. Double or triple wrap the straps and then ratchet the crap out of them until it's secure. Slide a long piece of thick pipe over your wrench to gain more leverage.
